Overview

Kaplan is a leading provider of apprenticeships, professional training, assessments, and qualifications. They have 16 training centres across the UK.

Kaplan chose us to complete the total refurbishment of their Nottingham training centre, including all five classrooms and the reception area. We started by stripping and clearing the space, then installed new data cabling and containment, with a new comms cabinet and newly fitted lighting system.

We were also engaged to provide a full data and electrical refurbishment on the 3rd floor of offices. Working in partnership with Synergia, we provided new lighting throughout (JCC), new power distribution, and local power supplies.

Additionally, we installed a new emergency lighting system which will enable remote testing moving forward and comes complete with a 10-year warranty. We also provided a brand-new Leviton cabling system which comes complete with a 25-year manufacturer’s warranty.

The result is a beautiful modern space with improved connectivity. The solutions we installed are more energy efficient, meaning the centre is now more sustainable and Kaplan will benefit from a reduction in energy use as well as cost savings.

The timescale on this project was three months. We started on the 1st of December and had to deliver at the beginning of March for courses to recommence. Access was tricky because of the centre’s town centre location, and the budget was tight, but we delivered a high level of finish, on-time and on-budget with students quickly back on site learning the skills they need to develop their careers.
